Our Process

Your roof. Your decision. You’re always in control.

RoofNuts is here to guide you through one of the biggest projects on your biggest investment.

The R.O.O.F. Process

Four steps from your first question to a finished roof. We guide; you decide.

  1. Step 1, R: Register

Tell us what’s happening with your roof. We review the details to understand your situation, needs, and goals.

  2. Step 2, O: Options

We walk you through the options we believe could address your roof issues and help you understand what each one means.

  3. Step 3, O: Offerings

We vet qualified contractors, then take the time to collect three estimates that fit your project. We help you compare the contractors, their proposals, and the roof systems they’re offering. You pick. Always.

  4. Step 4, F: Facilitate

We stay with you through the project, helping you understand the next steps and keeping the process moving. No guessing what comes next.

Your roof. Your decision. You’re always in control.

We review your situation, explain your options, vet the contractors, and stay with you to the finish. The choice of contractor, proposal, and roof system is always yours.

How We Vet Contractors

Part of Offerings. Before a contractor is one of your three choices, they clear every step below. Missing one is enough.

  1. 1Registration and licenses

We confirm the business is active with the Georgia Secretary of State, and check the city and county business licenses and any state contractor licensing the work requires.

  2. 2Insurance certificates

We get the general liability and workers’ compensation certificates, confirm them with the agent or carrier, and note when they expire so a lapse takes the company off the list.

  3. 3Reference calls

We call recent homeowner customers ourselves. Did the crew show up when promised? Was the proposal what they paid? Would they hire them again?

  4. 4Review forensics

We read reviews and complaints across sites, looking for patterns, suspicious bursts of reviews, and how the company handles problems when things go wrong.

  5. 5Local job evidence

A company is offered in a suburb only if it has real, recent jobs there. No copying the same list onto every town page.

  6. 6Proposal quality

We look at a real proposal. Good ones spell out materials, flashing, ventilation, decking, exclusions and warranties, so you can compare them fairly.

What keeps a contractor out

Most companies we look at don’t make it. These are the usual reasons.

  • No active business registration, or licenses that don’t match the work
  • Insurance we can’t verify, or that has lapsed
  • References that won’t confirm the work, or that we can’t reach
  • A pattern of unresolved complaints, or reviews that look bought
  • No real jobs in the suburb we’d offer them in
  • Vague, one-line proposals that hide exclusions
  • Pressure tactics: same-day signing, cash-only deals, or offers to waive your deductible

How RoofNuts makes money

Roofers pay RoofNuts a fee for each homeowner introduction. Homeowners pay nothing. A roofer can’t pay to be one of your choices or to move up; they have to pass vetting first.
